Belcar Masters

During the weekend of 23th October, there was the Belcar Masters. The last race event of this season. I was there around 8.45. And the weather wasn’t good.

At PSI, I said “Hi” to everyone and left my lugage overthere. SRT was moved from box 22 to box 36. This box is bigger, far away from the competitors and the people around the box are easier. But it was strange…SRT so close at the box of PSI.

Around 9 o’clock, the free practice was starting. At the end of the pit-lane, I took some photos for Dunlop. I met Tim Coronel, who was starting to talk with me about the rain. Tim looks like to his twin-brother Tom, but Tim has a smaller face.

After the training, I walked around in the paddock and then I have to go to the Mini Challenge. Meanwhile, I saw the Legend Series Paddock was just opposite to the Mini Paddock. So I walk also to the Legend Series Paddock.

In the Mini Paddock, I said “Hi” to everybody. Meanwhile, you know the team-members of the competitors. I have my work there. I got directly a ticket for the pitlane because we were in Zolder.

Meanwhile, it was time for pick-up my friend. A friend wanted to watch the Belcar and Legend Race for Koen Wauters. Koen Wauters is besides a driver in the Belcar also a famous singer in Belgium. And she was sleeping in the same Bed&Breakfast hotel as me, so she left her luggage in my car. Thus, it was time for her.

I watched the qualification of the Belcar above the pitboxes. Suddenly, somebody was greeting us. It was another friend of me. We talked a lot. My friends knew each other only by face. At a moment, Kris Wauters was staying at the wall and looking to the people above the pitbox. Kris is, for me, during the race events one of the AD – Sport members and not the famous singer (brother of Koen Wauters, together Clouseau). So I was greeting him, but I didn’t see any reaction. But the others said that he was also greeting to me.

Meanwhile, it was time for the 2nd Mini qualification. My friends talked a lot with each other. Meanwhile, the weather was better, but the track was still wet. Thus when the cars passed me…I was wet. Finally, we had a 8th qualifying time.

At PSI, they told me that car ’5′ didn’t start in the 2nd qualifying, due to something with the engine. Markus Palttala drove a great time earlier in the morning. But during the session, the car was driving. Finally, PSI had decided ‘It’s raining…let’s Markus play outside the box.’

After the qualifications, my friend wanted to talk with Koen Wauters, so she was waiting at AD – Sport. When my friend met Koen, she took a photo with him and her. Suddenly, he was back with Clouseau – photos and needed a pencil. I knew that he was driving in the Legend Celebrities, and there was at that time just a free practice…So, I asked why he didn’t use the practice. He answered that he had to go, it was raining and the car hasn’t a window.

The fans left the track and we walked around. After the Legend, we picked-up our key at the Bed& Breakfast. We eat at the Wheels.

At the Wheels, I met some supporters of Marc Goossens. We talked a lot. Due to the Legend Organisation, the supporters came to sit at our table and it was nice. Around 11 o’clock we went to our hotel and looked there to the photos of the day.

Next day, we waked up at 7.30 and around 9.15 we went back to the track. We parked our car outside the track. At the bus-stop, we looked for the time, and the bus was there once in 2 hours!o

My friend wanted to leave the track after the Belcar. But the Mini Challenge was just after the Belcar. So she left my key in the Mini tent. We walked around the track. During the warm-up, our ways were split up.

Meanwhile, it was time for the first Mini Challenge race. The race was OK and we were 6th. Thus the pole in the 2nd race.

During the podia, there were Legend Cars at the start-grid. I took a lot of photos. I like the cars. The drivers were happy and they didn’t drive ever in the car before.

After the race, I found my friend en we could just see the start of the Belcar. It was great to see both PSI – car at the front row. After the start, we eat in the Mini – tent.

This time, we eat Chinese. It was OK. During our lunch, Koen drove his car to a wall. And Leo van Sande drove his car to the sand. When I saw that, I scream a bit. After our lunch, we looked to the race in the tent, but we missed the Euphony Porsche and we didn’t see the car in the ranking.

We decided to walk back to the AD – Sport. Overthere, we saw our other friend again. She told us that there were more Clouseau – fans. But I didn’t see them. The car was just at the box and it was really damaged. Koen was OK and back at the team.

When Koen and Kris left the track, it was over for my friends. It was just a bad time for the bus, so my friends spoke a lot and the problem was over…and they left the track.

Meanwhile, the Belcar race was just over and SRT was champion. Off course, I tried to congratulate some team members. And I tried to take some photos of the team. Also at PSI, because car ’4′ had a podium again.

The 2nd Mini Challenge race was direct after the Belcar. For Fred Bouvy, it was a problem because he must go to the podium and starting in the race. The organisation decided that he must start and so Jos Menten (teammember) was alone.

Off course, I watched the podium of the Mini Challenge. Finally Fred can go to the podium. He wanted to have a party…

After the podium, I said “Hi’ to several teams. And I walked to the Mini tent. In the Belcar Tent, I saw the ceremony of the day. It was funny, because Fred was there again at the podium. In the Mini tent, there was also a ceremony of the day. And again with Fred. After the ceremony, there was a small party.

My team decided to eat in the Wheels and they invited me. During our meal, Fred and his mechanics were also in the Wheels and so our rest was gone.

Finally, I left the Wheels at 00.45. It was nice and hopefully…next year it will be even great

Racing Festival

Due to the bad timing of the Racing Festival, I went to Spa at September 30th. Around 22.30, I was in my hotel. After a drink, I went to my bed.

At Saturday, I waked up at 6.00 and after my breakfast I went to the track. I had a ‘date’ with a friend. We met each other at the parking. Everybody at the track had something to do with the races, so there wasn’t public.

At the paddock, I talked a lot with my friend, till he started with his work. After our talk, I went to the Belcar and Mini – Paddock. At several teams, team-members greeted really friendly, even at Kuismanen Competition. All my favourite teams were neighbours, so I didn’t visit the whole Belcar paddock.

At PSI, the team-members were really greeted friendly. Some members were really surprised that I visited the team so early in the morning. During the free practices, I took some photos in the pitlane. Due to say ‘Hi’ and greeting several team-members, I missed the Pirelli Maranello Challenge.

Meanwhile, it was time for the Mini Challenge, and I had again my job at the signalling wall. It was raining the whole morning, and I don’t like my job at that moment. The qualifying was good.

After the qualifying, the numbers were too wet. I was drying them and after a few moments, the mechanic came to me for the diner. Due to this dinner, I missed some qualifications of the Dutch Supercar Challenge and the Pirelli Maranello Challenge.

After the dinner, I visited many teams. Also PSI. Several mechanics came to me for asking me to the photo which made at the 24 Hours. Another mechanic had seen it and was really happy with it.

After the Mini’s, I watched to the Belcar and again I talked a lot with PSI members. I talked a lot with somebody of the press of PSI. It was really nice. Also the talks with the mechanics were nice.

Meanwhile, all the races were over. I visited my friend. We talked a lot till an official came to us and gave a sign to my friend. My friend asked if I may come together…and the official hasn’t problems with that. So, I went with them. We drove with the ‘official’ car at the track to give the marshall the sign ‘race-day is over’.

The ride was really amazing. The track is really different when you drove on it. I tried to see where I was at the track, but that’s hard. After the ride, I was shaking for a few moments and a strange feeling in my stomach.

I did my final tour at the paddock, and picked up my luggage at PSI. At my hotel, I put my photos on my laptop and went to my bed.

At Sunday, I waked up too early. But finally, I was back at the track around 8.30. At the paddock, I left my luggage at PSI. In the pit-lane, I met my friend again and we talked a lot. Markus stayed (in his car) in front of us, but he didn’t see us. A PSI member saw me and greeted me friendly.

After the warm-up, I drink a cup hot chocolate. And then, the preparing for the Mini was starting. Due to the rain at the end of the warm-up, the track was wet. But the ideal race line was dry due to a race before the Mini Challenge. So, we got a tyre problem. The Mini Challenge hasn’t intermediates.

Gunther, my driver, was started at rain tyres. But at the startgrid, he chose for slicks. So, we had to change the tyres so fast as we can. I helped a lot. And I was surprised that I could see with the codes at the tyres…what the location was at the car. Gunther started the race with slicks.

The race was thrilling. With another driver, we got a battle. And the driver had coverage the race this time. Finally, we had a 9th position, but later on we retired by the weight of the car.

The timing of the festival was bad. The Mini Challenge Race was following by the Belcar. Fred Bouvy was 2nd in the Mini, but he had to race in the Belcar, so he decided to have a champagne moment without him. Meanwhile, there was a Porsche Carrera GT at the track.

After the start of the Belcar, I took my lunch at the Mini Challenge Tent. During the lunch, I watched the Belcar and the Mini Challenge video. It was great to see the battle again.

The first hour of the Belcar was really fast over, so I watched some pit stops. And after the race, I watched the podium. There were many children in the pit-lane, and that’s normally forbidden.

After the Belcar, I had to wait for the 2nd Mini Challenge Race. I watched at several places at the track. And I talked a lot with some supporters of Marc Goossens. I talked also a lot with the mechanics of PSI. We see each other at every race, but we didn’t talk to each other. And I got a smaller language problem as I thought!

Finally, it was 16.45 and the 2nd Mini Challenge race was starting. We started as last and finished as 9th.

After the Mini Challenge, we cleared up the paddock. And I didn’t want to go home. With my Mini – team, we decided to eat something in the Wheels at Zolder. But first, we drink some in the Mini tent. In the tent, I had a nice talk with members of JJ Motorsport.

Finally, I was back in the Mini tent. And suddenly, Fred Bouvy and Didier came also in the tent. A few moments later, Christian Schumacher was there. Christian is the boss of PSI. Later on, Christian was the only-once PSI member inside the tent. And…he understood Dutch, only he didn’t speak Dutch. I thought for 1,5 season…I can’t talk with the man because there is no language for us!

24 Hours of Spa

Day 1: Great Sphere.

From 27 July till 31 July, there was the 24 Hours of Spa at the track in Spa. And I was there from beginning till end.

Around 7.30, at 27 July, I went to Spa. Around 10.45, I was there and it was really quiet. I walked to the paddock and it was quiet at the track. With plenty time, I make a ‘paddock-tour.’

Directly, I made a mistake. This is a FIA – GT race and not a Belcar race, but I dealt with the race as a Belcar race. So I walked into the pitbox of Aston Martin for looking to the car of Marc Goossens. And inside the box, I realized ‘I’m INSIDE the box’. That’s forbidden. But they haven’t a problem with it and I walked inside.

Off course, I was searching for Gordon, GLPK, SRT and PSI. They stood together, a really Belcar corner. Besides PSI was the team of Richard Virenque and some box besides them the 2 Ferrari’s driven by Kurt Mollekens, Vincent Vosse and Fred Bouvy.

When I looked inside one of the cars, I saw Kurt. The team was making a seat for him. I looked to how they did it. The seat is really hard. And the sphere was nice.

At GLPK, I met some people and it was nice to be at GLPK. Off course, I walked inside to pitbox of Gordon. The team-manager was happy when I took a photo. I told him that I took the whole weekend some pics of the Gordon car. And from now on, I could walk in -and outside the box whenever I want.

When I knew the important things of the 24 Hours, I searched for the other races. At the F1 – paddock, there was everything of the WTCC, a touring cup championship with also a Finnish guy. I founded the car and driver.

At the backside of the F1 – paddock, there was a place for the Alfa Challenge with also a Finnish guy, Mikko Heino. And I found him also.

Besides the teams, the paddock was full with hospitality. I was surprised about the luxury. Per example, ‘Eurosport’ had his bus inside the tent.

My timing was completely wrong. And at the moment when I wanted to go to the village Spa, I met a friend. We talked a lot and he was unhappy…because he wanted also to go the village, but he had not transport. So we went together to the village.

At the parking, we met Markus Palttala, he was surprised that people was greeting him. A few moments later, he recognized us. We drove the same direction as the race-cars did. We were surprised that people sat down beside the road for watching the cars. It was a strange experience. We greeted some people and sometimes my car was a test car for photographers.

We were surprised that we could park our car so close to the event. And we stood beside the road at the casino. A few moments later, the race cars came to Spa. It was great to see the cars in the village.

The cars were shown at the market square and that was really badly arranged. Everybody walked around. The autograph session…I didn’t found it. If you want to ask something to driver, you walked to him and just asked.

I’ve laugh a lot. My ‘friend’ wanted a autograph of Jeroen Bleekemolen. And he stood at the GLPK – Corvette. So I said to him: “You said…hxe9 Jeroen, may I have an autograph” and Jeroen reacted directly.

Off course, I took some pics at Gordon. Meanwhile, I lost my ‘friend’. Finally, we founded each other and he wanted an autograph of Markus Palttala. We looked and founded him. After that, my friend wanted a pic with Markus and him. The result is great.

Suddenly, the drivers were gone and the pavements were full. It was great weather. My ‘friend’ wanted to see Vanina Ickx. We founded her at a pavement. At the same pavement, I saw a ‘friend’. So I talked a lot with her and it was nice. Thanks a lot.

When the event was over, we went back to the track. We talked a lot with the people at the track and waited for the cars. The sphere was really great. When the cars were back at the track, the day was over.

Around 20.30, I was in my hotel and felt my unhappy. Directly, I went to my bed…

Day 2: Nice, but strange situations

I waked up and after a breakfast I went back to the track. Because I didn’t known where I could park during the qualification days, I decided to go to P1. I was surprised that I could park my car at P1, which was ‘Team-Carpark’.

I walked to track with a free-ticket. I was surprised that I didn’t get something around my pulse. At the paddock, I said ‘Hi’ to several teams. And I made a ‘paddock-tour’. I walked through the ‘Maserti-tent’. It was great, a class with one type of cars. Only, I didn’t watch to names of the drivers. I thought it’s a Italian class, every driver will be Italian.

I watched all the practices and qualifications that day. During a practice of the WTCC, Valle Mxe4kela wanted to go outside the box, and he drove one meter and stopped. The engine didn’t work, while Tom Coronels car haven’t a problem.

Before the first free practice of the 24 hours, I walked to all the pitboxen. I took a picture of all the cars will be ready. I watched to Bas Leinders, he was busy with sponsoring at the car till I heard ‘Hello’. A friend of my stayed behind me and we talked a lot. It was nice to see him back.

It was funny to see the Seat Cupra Cup. In the class, 2 drivers are Pieter-Christiaan and Bernhard van Vollenhoven. Both are royals. I saw Bernard also at the entrxe9e of the track…but I realized it later.

Due to circumstances, I left the track. In Francorchamps, I didn’t found what I’m looking for. So I bought it in Stavelot. When I came back at the track, I could not park my car at the same place. So I parked the car at the Racing Hotel. I saw nobody, and when I walked away…I heard some people. I had to pay 8 Euro for a part of the day! I parked my car in Francorchamps and I have to walk to the track. So I missed more qualifications and practices as needed.

I walked around till the night qualifications. I watched a part of the qualification at Gordon’s because it was raining.

During one of my ‘Paddock-tours’, I was looking for the ‘Seat Cupra Cars’. They had a own paddock at the R.A.C.B. school. And you had to walk for that! Several teams were surprised that there was a supporter for them. And I talked a lot with team-members.

During the free practices, the Gordon Team gets more and more members. Finally, I saw a ‘ friend’ again who’s greeting friendly. Some other mechanics recognized me and were greeting friendly. Christian Lefort (driver) was happy to see me back, greeted me with a ‘kiss’ directly. A few moments later, Yves Lambert (driver) saw me. He was also happy to see me back and greeted also with a ‘kiss’. They were happy that I supported them!

During the night qualification, I spoke with a friend about something. And he gave a present. Thanks a lot!

At the end of the day, I was tired and I went back to my hotel. At the hotel, I put my photos at my laptop and went to bed.

Day 3 : Kris Wauters in Trofeo Maserti.

This day, I waked up early again and after my breakfast I went back to the track, a day with practices and qualifications again. I came at the track with bad weather, but the weather was in a new moment better. In my first ‘Paddock-tour’, I said ‘Hi’ to the several teams.

My ‘friend’ told me that the races of the Trofeo Maserati and WTCC would be great. So I decided to watch to the car. The Trofeo Maserati is also a part of glamour. Thus, they were shown at the F1 – paddock. I walked besides the cars and suddenly I saw ‘Sandor van Es’. That is a Dutch driver, so I was surprised. Till then, I thought that every driver is an Italian driver. At the car, there is the name ‘Wauters’. And when I turned around, I saw Kris Wauters in a race suit. (Kris Wauters is a famous guy as a singer). Off course, I took a picture.

During the WTCC practice I spoke a lot with my friend. And again, the engine of Valle Mxe4kela’s car didn’t work.

Due to changes of ‘Yvonne’s Corner’, I need good pics of Finnish drivers in Belgium. From some of them, like Risto Virtanen, I got one. So Markus Palttala and Valle Mxe4kela posed for me.

After a happy day, I went back to my hotel. I felt in sleep for some hours. And when I wake up, I saw it was raining.

Day 4 : VIPS

The day started again with a breakfast. And I went back to the track. Today was the first race day. So I parked my car at P3 and I paid 8 Euro for 2 days. At the track, I greeted several teams and made a ‘Paddock-tour’.
At the Alfa Challenge Paddock, I spoke with supporters and team-members of Mikko Heino’s team. Off course, I took a pic of Mikko.

I followed the Trofeo Maserati and talked a lot with Sandor van Es. The Maserati’s stared directly at the track. I didn’t know why did went to the track at ‘Eau Rouge’, because they had problems with the corner at La Source. But I was great to see that class. After the drivers change of Sandor and Kris…I walked to the pitlane.

Meanwhile, at Gordon there was a flat screen, so I could see the Trofeo Maserati. The class was winning by an Italian driver but Kris Wauters and Sandor van Es were third. And they drove for the first time in a Maserati.

After the WTCC, the 24 Hours started. The pitwalk was crowed. All the drivers were giving autographs. The drivers were shown in car around the track. I walked at the grid and took a lot of pics. For me, it was too crowed for me…so I left the grid.

I saw the start at the Gordon screen. A few laps later, the Blue Zebra of PSI came in the pitlane. Due to this, I didn’t see anything of the race.

The pitwalk was not good for my back. The first days of the 24 hours, I walked with my tempo. Now, you could not walk easy at the track.

I visited also the animation part of the track. It was crowed there. You could buy everything what you want with racing theme. Finally, I left the track around 23.00.

Day 5 : Not yet!

This day, I had my breakfast. I have rest, so I went very quick to the track. At the track, I made my ‘Paddock-tour’ and greeted the teams. All my favourite teams were still racing.
I watched the raced at several places around the paddock.

I watched the race at Raddiliion till I saw that the PSI – Porsche came inside. The cars stood still for a time, too long for me. So, I wanted to know what was happen. Meanwhile, I saw a pitstop of Gordon. The Porsche retired by the gearbox and it was over for PSI.

Regular, during the rain periods in the race, I watched the race at the Gordon screen. Meanwhile the dry periods, I was at the track.

I had decided to visit the Gordon box during the last hour of the race. The last drivers change was happen and Yves drove away till the end of the pitlane. When he wanted to go…the car didn’t do anything. So it was over. (A complete explanation, see : this topic)

It was also over for me. I followed the race by Gordon and PSI. The other drivers, as Marc Goossens, were not so important for me. I knew nothing from them. The one thing what I knew was that Marc Goossens was still racing, like the Corvette’s.

I watched the last hour without interest. At the end, I saw my ‘friend’ and we spoke a lot. Meanwhile, the rain was too heavy, so Aston Martin and Richard Virenque stopped with racing.

5 minutes before the end, the Aston Martin and Richard Virenque started again. I saw the finish that pit wall. It was great to see the finish at the way, but I think…I was emotional when the Gordon and PSI cars finished also.

After that I greeted some people, I went back to my hotel. On Monday, I drove back to Holland. Thanks to everybody.

BTCS at 25 Hours Fun Cup

At 9 July, I went to Spa again. This day was a test-day, for me, by drive to Spa and back home in one day. Around 5.30 am I waked up and around 6.15 am, I drove to Spa.

When I arrived in the BTCS – paddock, the cars were just going to the start. I took some pics of the BMW.
The PSI team had, for me, some new members. I took pics at several places in the paddock and startgrid. Due to the crowd in the pitlane, I followed the race above the pitbox.

The race started with a great action of David Loix. He started as 3rd, but was first at the Raddillion. Great! Finally, they finished as third (general) and first in their class.

During this race, somebody called me and together we walked around in the paddock. The whole paddock was for the VW Fun Cup. In the paddock, there was a nice sphere and many families. Really nice!

After some hours, the 2nd BTCS started and I walked around at the startgrid. It will be a bit normal now. During the race, I watched it above the pitbox and again, I would disturb. The 2nd race was the same as the first race. Again, the Red Bull Porsche drove fast and again, they were third general and first in their class.

After the podium – ceremony of the BTCS, the VW Fun Cup started. It was nice to see so many old Beetles together. The start grid was from the endurance startline to La Source! And the bi-place Beetles started in the pitlane due to the length of the grid.

And again in this race active: Fred Bouvy. This guy drove in all the races in Belgium! J

Again, I walked around at the startgrid, but in the back of the grid, you never heard the signals. Every signal had a “Domino” effect! The start was nice and it took more than one minute before every Beetle was over Eau Rouge.

After the start, I walked around in the paddock. The noise was nice. You heard cars driven, but you could speak to each other. I was at PSI and congratulate the team. I’m still surprised about the truck so many things are going into that truck…

After all, I bought a ice-cream and enjoyed the crowd in the paddock. Around 17.30, I drove back home.

BTCS and GTP

Last weekend (18th June), I visited the BTCS/GTP weekend in Spa.

On Friday, I went to Spa. When I was there, I walked around in the paddock and greeting several teams.

Meanwhile, it was time for the first Mini – qualification. I watched it at Donna’s – team. But very soon, I stayed at the wall to show the pitbord for the driver.

After the Mini qualification, there was a free practice of the BTCS. Between both practices of the BTCS, I walked to PSI – Motorsport. They had a box at the end of the pitlane. They were busy with sponsoring of the car.

It was time for the 2nd Mini qualification. It was nice. I knew now where I could see ‘my’car and we get a monitor.

During the 2nd BTCS qualification, I sit down at the start of the pitlane and watched to all the cars. I wanted to take a nice pic of the Red Bull Porsche (PSI – Motorsport) and the Euromaster BMW.

After the qualifications, I said “Hi” to the Dunlop-man. The man invited me for a drink. It was very nice there, thanks a lot!

After this conversation, I make my final paddock-tour for that day. By somebody, I got a paddock-park card. In my hotel, I put my pics on my laptop and went to bed.

Next day, I parked my car near to the track entrxe9e. First what I did, was looking to the new look of the Red Bull Porsche.

After the BTCS practice, the first Mini race was there. I was surprised that there were supporters at 9.25 am. The Donna Mini finished as 6th, which means pole position in the 2nd race. Pierre-Yves Corthals (JJ Motorsport) drove in the 2nd race from the 18th position to the number one position!

After the 2nd Mini Challenge, the pre-start of the BTCS was beginning. I wanted to take a nice pic of the BMW. By somebody, I got a press-card and I could walk at the startgrid. It was great to walk at the startgrid with beautiful weather. I walked besides all the cars and took many pics.

After a pitstop of the BMW, with Markus Palttala, I went to my hotel. In my hotel, I fell in sleep. Around 21.30 pm, I waked up again. After a fresh shower, I went back to the track.

I make a paddock-tour and searched for some news about the BMW and Red Bull Porsche. I saw again a pitstop with Markus.

Suddenly, the Dutch commentary stopped. I was unhappy with it, because I don’t understead French and I heard some news about Markus Palttala. I visited the Euromaster Box, and the decided to stop yet.

The last hour, I visited the PSI – box. It was nice to see how people react during the last part of a endurance race. The Red Bull Porsche won and ‘we’ had a small party. Everybody gets beer! Even me!! It is great to be a supporter of PSI. Around 3.00 am, I went back to my hotel.

The next morning, I went back to the track. It was totally different as the day before. Today, it was GTP – day. I watched in the pitlane and Markus was greeting me directly. During the 2nd qualification, he blew up the engine.

After a short, but very nice talk with him, I went back home

Spa Euro Race 2005

Last weekend, it was Spa Euro Race Weekend. On Friday (10 June), I went to Spa. And lives went really fast. Last year, I went for the first time to Spa and didn’t know any driver yet.

On Friday, I went to Spa around 07.00 a.m. with beautiful weather and was in Spa around 10.00 a.m. There was almost nobody. Without any control, I walked into the pitlane. Some mechanics and drivers were greeting to me in several languages. I walked around the paddock and said ‘Hi’ to several team-members.

During the free practices, I walked in the pitlane. I walked the whole day in the Paddock. And I took a photo of all the Finnish guys in action.

It was nice to see, how Dutch people handling in the Belcar. Some things are typical Dutch, like make coffee, peel potatoes…a pot with drop at the table and everyone visited each other.

I met some Dutch guys and I talked sometimes with the partners of the mechanics. The mechanics were also friendly and I talked regular with Cor Euser.

During my paddock – walk, I visited the box of GLPK. This time, they were neighbours of PSI – Motorsport. In the box, there were Anthony Kumpen and Bert Longin.

Due to my work, I was interested in the Porsche 45 from PSI. I was wondering about the livery of the car. (looks like a blue zebra).

During the qualification, there was a heavy crash of Sylvie Delcour. Her car is total loss. She is still alive.

Meanwhile, it was 19.00 and I was a bit tired. I went to my hotel. This time, I got a ‘Bed & Breakfast’ – hotel, with Dutch owners. I found it easily and 15 minutes later, I was in my hotel.

The owners were very friendly. After I put my photos on my laptop, we talked a lot about several things. It was nice and before I knew, the clock showed 22.30 pm.

The next day, I waked up at 6.15 am. I wanted to be at the track at 7.45 am. The sun was shining. I parked my car very close in front of the main port of the track. Without any control, I could visit the paddock.

First, I make my paddock – tour. Than, I walked a bit around the track and took some photos of the second qualification between the ‘Busstop’ and ‘Blanchimont’.

Meanwhile, it was 11.00 am and I had seen everything on the track. I went back to my hotel. Again, I put my photos on my laptop. And I gave my back the rest what it need. Around 14.00 pm, I went back to the track.

Meanwhile, there were a lot more people at the track. Unfortunately, I couldn’t park my car so close in front of the main port. But I parked my car near close to the main port.

Again, I walked a paddock – tour. There were many people in the pitlane. Before I knew, the start of the race was there! I was a bit nervous and I kept my fingers cross for a good result of ‘my’ Finnish drivers.

Meanwhile, I met some Dutch photographers who photograph the Belcar also. They doubt about the actions. First track or first paddock.

After the start, I walked around the track in opposite direction as the cars. It’s really great to do. I walked alone, but I was not the only one.

During my walk around the track, there was something happen on the track. During the pre-lap, there was an accident between the Daikin – Mini and the ‘Moore’ – BMW. The RS Racing Porsche had an accident too.

It was funny to see that some people had their own party and don’t visit the paddock. And they got a very good place for taking pics.

After 2 hours, I came back into the paddock.

In the paddock, I visited many teams. Unfortunately, Risto Virtanen was out of the race. I had seen that he won’t pass me during my walk, but I didn’t know why. During a visit of ERG Motorsport, Risto told me the reason.

The last hours were not good for my back. I tried to sit down and watch the race. After a last paddock – tour, I went to the podium – ceremony. The winners are David Hart and Marc Goossens. And they were welcome with it.

After the podium – ceremony, I took my baggage and had a nice talk there.

In the Belcar – tent, our ways split up. I had a nice talk with a PSI – member. Later on, I had a nice talk with someone of Daikin Racing and a very nice talk with someone of Dunlop. The ‘Dunlop’- man invited me to come to the BTCS race.

I left the track around 04.00 am, after this very nice conversation. Around 4.30 am, I was in my hotel – room. But, before I left the track…I had to scratch ice of my windows. And it is June now!!

At the end of the Belcar – party, it was very noisy. Some English and Dutch people drunk too much. You saw, some Dutch people came for the drank.

It was a great weekend.

Janika

Last week my colleague gets very great news. The band wherein he plays music, get the chance to play during Parkpop.

My colleague plays, as hobby, bass-guitar in 2 bands (Payday and Janika). Payday isn’t my music, but Janika sounds very nice. And it’s about Janika.

In The Hague, there is a pop-music festival called “Parkpop”. This is the biggest free pop-music festival in Europe. In The Hague, they get the follow idea: “Let’s play a local band at Parkpop”. For this, there were pre-selections with the name “Locals Only”. One of these pre-selections was win by Janika. Step 1 to Parkpop has been taken.

At Friday 10 June, there is coverage of the ‘Local Only’ pre-selections on local television. After this show, the viewer can vote for the best band at the website of Parkpop. The band with the most votes may play at Parkpop.

My colleague isn’t open about his private life. I know that he plays music and so on, but he didn’t say some much about it. But now, he said several times that he get the chance to play with Janika at Parkpop. Due to this, I want that he play at Parkpop.

Thus, take a minute and visit the site of “Parkpop” and vote on Janika. You can vote from 10th of June!

DTM – weekend

Actually, I don’t have plans for visiting DTM in Spa, but some other plans were changed and I want to go more and more.

I knew, by friends (Karin and Mathieu), that everything is not so easy as during Belcar races. Both looked to the possibilities of the weekend. Karin got a ticket, for me, for the Bronze zone. So I had a ticket for the races!!

On Saturday, around 6.15 am, I went to Sart. In Sart, I got my ticket and have a nice talk with Karin. Around 9.30 am, I went to Spa. First, I visited the ‘Welcome Centre’ for a better ticket. They told me, in Dutch, that I was at the wrong place, but there were tickets still available. Meanwhile, it was raining…another day with ‘Spa Weather’. I bought other tickets, for Silver zone. Now, I could visit the paddock too.

The paddock looks total different than during the LMES weekend. And there were almost no supporters with the Belgian, Dutch or German nationality. I heard mainly Scandinavian languages. And I saw many Finnish flags. The F1- paddock was complete for the DTM – race. The Endurance – pit was for the F3 race and the rest was divided around the paddock. The Formula BMW was outside the paddock.

It was striking that all the classes were ‘open’, except the DTM and F3 class.

I walked around the whole day. And when it was raining too heavy, I visited the stand of ‘Audi’. They had a stand with a screen, so I can see the race and it was dry. It was, on Saturday, the most visited stand J.

I decided to watch the DTM practice in the paddock with a view of the entrance of the pitlane. I walked to there, and suddenly I heard ‘Hey Yvonne’ with a Finnish/English accent. Risto Virtanen walked there and we talked a lot. Off Course, he said something about ‘Spa Weather’. It was nice to meet him.

Mathieu had said that he didn’t come to the DTM, but suddenly I saw him. And we talked a lot about the races in Spa.

The practices and races, I watched it everywhere on the paddock. And everything what I didn’t see, I watched it on a screen. Matthias Ekstrxf6m got aquaplaning. Due to the very bad weather, there were more small (or almost) crashes. Due to re-qualification of 2 drivers during the ‘Super Pole’, the pitwalk was cancelled.

I sit down at my booked placed, and I gave a strange feeling. I sat on the stand for the ‘Endurance startgrid’. The cars make heavy noises. So I heard the cars in the ‘Busstop’ and I saw the cars few seconds later. It was a strange experience.

Around 17.15, I went to Karin. At her home, I dressed me up in dry clothes. We talked a lot, also with her boyfriend. The evening falls, and I collapsed. I went to my bed, very early. And I fall in sleep almost directly.

At Sunday, I waked up at 6.30 a.m. and went to the track around 7.30 am. Around the track, there were a lot of people. I have never seen that before!
Fortunately, I passed the control post direct, because I got all my tickets and so on already. I watched the first races again everywhere on the paddock. It was great to watch the VW Polo races. It looks like the Mini Challenge, only with more touching.

The DTM – warm up, I watched it at the start of the pitlane. Meanwhile, I got a SMS of Wendy…she came to the paddock after the Warm-up.

We found each other and walked to the DTM – paddock. A man said to us: “Mika Hxe4kkinen is signing”. We went to him, because Wendy is a big fan of him. And she got an autograph of him. She was very happy with that. At Saturday, I ‘met’ him twice, but I was too late for an autograph or photo. You could find Mika very easy…the place with the most crowd…there was Mika. Mathieu and I thought directly to AD – Sport and Koen Wauters. (Very famous singer in Belgium drives also for AD – Sport).

Suddenly, I saw Risto again. And we talked again a lot. He was a bit surprised that it was dry, but he expected rain or snow!

I walked around with Wendy and her friends and it was nice. We split up for the F3 – race. Wendy and her friends watched it at the stand, I watched on the paddock.

For the entrance of the pitlane on the paddock, there were many people. Suddenly, I saw a Finnish cameraman starting filming. I turned around and saw Mika Hxe4kkinen on a scooter. I got the time, to stay besides the cameraman…and I took a very nice photo of him.

The pitwalk was cancelled again. Meanwhile I got a SMS of a friend…with an invitation for a cup of thee. When we found each other, we drunk a cup of thee…and had a nice talk. We missed the driver presentation.

For the race, we split up. The first part of the race, I watched it on my booked place. It was still a strange experience…to watch a screen and see the cars in real life from ‘La Source’ till ‘Eau Rouge’. Part two of the race I watched it on a screen in the paddock.

During the podium – ceremony, I stand besides the podium and I took some pics. When the podium – ceremony was finished, I walked around on the paddock. And I got a SMS from Wendy. She was in ‘Eau Rouge’.
With Wendy and her friends, I walked back to my car. In a cafxe9 we have drunk something with each other before we split up definitive. Around 16.30 pm, I went to home.

It was a great weekend. I know now what DTM is. But I’ve seen it now, and once is enough. I had a great weekend, but DTM is not my cup of thee for racing.

Forum

The last few weeks were, due to computer problems, not practical. My laptop was broken, so I couldn’t work with my laptop in the evening. Things what I must do, I did these things before or after my job and sometimes also during my job.

During the use of Internet, I visit a forum. This forum, I visited it every day before my laptop problems. The visitors started about almost everything a tread, what is to see.

I was there, and clicked to the topic ‘Other Carsports’. There was a lot of news. I’ve read the article on another site, but I was happy that they had noticed the news.

Suddenly, I see a tread on the forum. Off course, I clicked on it, because I was really curious about it. I followed the tread and suddenly there was a question for photos. I got them, and I wrote the writer of the post. He was really happy with the photos and we get a nice contact.

He told me what he wants to do with the photos, so I send him a lot of photos. The writer was really happy again, en he put the nicest photos on-line. With my copyrights and so on…

From now on, I send the nicest photos also to that site. Hopefully, the visitors of the site are happy with the photos….
